Starting from Kristiansand in Southern Norway and traveling northwest to Haugesund, there are 24 lighthouses along the North Sea Road.
Since 2008, several lighthouses have been functioning as living arenas for cultural activities. In 2012 seven lighthouses have invited artists into their simple, small but fine buildings.
