The island of Smøla is home to Haugjegla Lighthouse. Smøla is one of three island municipalities in Nordmøre, a traditional district in the Norwegian county of Møre og Romsdal. The only city in Nordmøre is Kristiansund which is to the southwest of Smøla. Trondheim lies to the east, inside the Trondheimfjord.

The island of Smøla is home to Haugjegla Lighthouse. Smøla is one of three island municipalities in Nordmøre, a traditional district in the Norwegian county of Møre og Romsdal.
